FAUSTINO CLUBS RETREAT AT FOUNDER’S HOLLOW
Sixteen young men from Chaminade and Kellenberg Memorial High Schools attended a retreat in mid-August at Founder’s Hollow, the Province of Meribah’s retreat house in upstate New York. All the retreatants were members of the Faustino Club, which consists of high-school boys discerning a vocation to the consecrated life or to the diocesan priesthood. In keeping with this year’s Jubilee of Hope, the theme of the retreat was “To give you a future . . . and a Hope.”
TParticipants explored various scenarios that typically challenge teenage boys (failing a test, getting cut from a team, losing a loved one, etc) and how the virtue of hope can help a young person navigate each of those challenges. The retreatants also attended daily Mass, spent time in Eucharistic Adoration, and prayed Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer with the Marianist Brothers who were with them on the retreat. The retreat even included a trip to the Dutchess County Fair, just for fun!
